Hollow Knight

This was a while ago, I played Hollow Knight when it released on the Switch I think it was 2 years after the initial release. I played it during my A Levels. I remember playing it a lot in the studio when recording performers.

TUNIC

I played TUNIC in 2022 around July ish. It was after playing ELDEN RING which I was obsessed with. It took like a month to beat I think.

I remember when ELDEN RING was about to release there was this thing going around where people were like, "Oh you need a notebook with Elden Ring!" and I thought like yooo ok that's so exciting! It reminded me of the limited edition FEZ physical that came with a custom notebook to solve puzzles with. I honestly thought it was gonna involve some degree of like, that. Idk I just figured it would but obviously Elden Ring doesn't need one at all. The game isn't really about puzzles it clearly leaned more to the action-side of the souls formula which is fine and I enjoyed it but I was slightly let down with the notebook. So when I got around to TUNIC I was excited to find that there was a whole aspect of the game centered around cryptic puzzles, and it was entirely optional too! So people like me get to have fun with that aspect of the game and choose if we want to engage or not with that degree of complexity or absurdity.

Note to self: Update this page to add images from the notebook

Dark Souls

I was playing FFXIV and Minecraft kinda exclusively for a while because there weren't really any games I was enjoying. I had already played a lot growing up.

I got led into Dark Souls because I played the Haunted PS1 Demo Disc I think and it had Fiend's Isle? A indie game based on the King's Field series. I really enjoyed it and the vibe so I looked into King's Field and was fascinated by it. I played like some of King's Field II (King's Field I in the West) and enjoyed it but it was soo clunky and difficult so I didn't get too far. From there I learned about Dark Souls, which is weird because I was definitely aware of the games before yet somehow it all eluded me. Anyways I got in the summer sale.

I went into Dark Souls thinking it was like Cat Mario or Kaizo lol. I was so scared trudging through every step of Lordran and I was having a blast with it. My only regret is the handful of times I looked up a guide. It had been a long time since I had played a complex game let alone one that was difficult so I had this mentality of "i need the best stuff!" obviously black knight halberd is a rare drop so I settled for the black knight sword and even still I was bad at the game.

Signalis

My friend Cas recommended Signalis to me back when it released in I think 2022. I feel really stupid for not playing it sooner because I got it in 2023 after getting increasingly interested in Elster and Ariane through fan animations.
